Navigating the Maasverse
Introduction: The Multiverse Explored
Welcome to the realm where every drawer holds a secret. Just as Feyre painted her family’s wooden dresser in that humble cottage with distinct destinies of crackling flames for Nesta, vibrant flowers for Elain, and a night sky dotted with stars for herself, the Maasverse is a tapestry woven from three distinct yet deeply intertwined worlds.
A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), Crescent City (CC), and Throne of Glass (ToG) opens into an interconnected multiverse. Linked by ancient Wyrdgates and cosmic entities like the Asteri (aka the Daglan), these worlds bleed into one another at thin places. This guide serves as your map through the rifts, bloodlines, and overlapping timelines that define Sarah J. Maas’s creation.

Overlapping Timelines: When Worlds Collide
The rifts may have been sealed by Theia and her daughters 10,000 years ago, but we can attempt to unravel the unified history by analyzing cross-dimensional migrations and the stories of ancient beings like Amren and Silene.

Ancient History (10,000+)
⭐17,000+ Years Ago: Iphraxia Evacuation
⭐15,000 Years Ago: Midgard Conquest and the height of the Daglan Rule in Prythian
- The Movements of Amren: Rhysand states Amren arrived during the Daglan Rule, and she was imprisoned before the Midgard Exodus before the courts were formed.
- Silene’s Ted-Talk: Silene states she created the prison after the Exodus, and most notably, the courts were formed while she was in Midgard.
⭐11,000 Years Ago: Age of Legend
⭐10,000 Years Ago: Queen Theia’s Rebellion
Discrepancies: 3 Reasons Why the Timing Fails to Align
- History Re-Written: There is a pattern of patriarchal historians rewriting origins in Prythian (see more below on the theory Enalius replaced Rhiannon).
- The 5,000-Year Gap: A discrepancy between Midgard records (placing Conquer at 11,500 A.E.) and Silene’s recollections (sealed the rifts on roughly 17,000 A.E.). This 5,000-year “time gap” suggests that time flows at non-uniform rates across rifts, or that the Asteri have deleted history from the record.
- Unreliable Characters: Accounts of the Prison’s founding are contradictory. Silene claims she created the Prison 100 years after the Exodus, and that the Courts split while the Fae were still in Midgard. Conversely, the Bone Carver and Amren claim they were imprisoned before the Courts were ever formed.
Recent History (2,000 – 500)

⭐1,500 Years Ago: Torre Cesme built
⭐500 Years Ago: Human vs. Fae War resulted in the Hybern Treaty and creation of the Wall. Simultaneously, Erilea was consumed by the brutal Witch Wars.
⭐200 Years Ago: Shahar’s Rebellion fails, malakim against the Asteri.
⭐40 Years Ago: Pangera Conflict, a human-led resistance against the Vanir.
